Hundreds of people around the world have pledged more than $15,000 to pay for veterinary care for Colonel Meow, who is critically ill.
Colonel's "mom," Anne Marie, posted on Facebook Monday that Colonel was in the hospital and doctors could not figure out what is wrong with him.
On Wednesday she posted that it has been determined that the problem is with Colonel's heart and he remains in the hospital.
A go fund me account was set up on Thursday afternoon, and in just six hours, more than $15,000 was raised.
"That is beyond words," Anne Marie said in a video posted on Facebook. "I am in absolute shock and complete and utter gratefulness for everyone to help me through this time. I can't even put into words how thankful I am."
Anne Marie offered a toast to all of Colonel's minions with his favorite drink - scotch.
"We are hanging in there," she said via the Facebook video. "And it's because of you, 100 percent because of you, and I appreciate all your love and support so thank you."
Anne Marie says any money that might be left over after Colonel's medical bills are paid will be donated to emergency pet care.
Thousands of people have sent well-wishes to the Colonel. Anne Marie wrote on Tuesday afternoon that she has been holding her "Miracle Meow" all day and reading every comment.
"If you wrote it, he's heard it," she said.
Colonel Meow was adopted by Anne Marie and Eric Rosario after he was was found abandoned by the side of the road and taken in by Seattle Persian and Himalayan Society. They lived in Seattle but later moved to Los Angeles.
In September, Colonel set a Guinness World Record for the longest fur. He is featured in the Guinness World Records 2014 book
He has more than 240,000 faithful fans - "minions" - on his Facebook page and that number continues to grow.
