RENO, Nev. - Giddy the kitty has returned home to her owner in Reno, four years after vanishing and somehow winding up on the extreme northern Oregon Coast.
Officials at the Clatsop Animal Assistance center in Warrenton, Ore., were able to track the cat back to Bill Tweedy of Reno with the help of an identifying microchip embedded in the animal.
Giddy earlier this month was flown to Reno in a commercial airliner and reunited with Tweedy, who adopted her for companionship to help deal with loneliness after going through a divorce.
Tweedy says he's happy to have Giddy back and the two are getting along just fine. After the house cat ran out his front door in 2007, he thinks Giddy was found by someone in Reno who later moved to Oregon.
