LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Humane Society staff have seized 33 animals from a filthy home in Longview, Washington.

Working off a tip, the Cowlitz County Humane Society found nearly three dozen animals, including dogs, guinea pigs and birds, in a home with two children, ages 10 and 11.

Their mother told Portland's KGW that poor health kept her from keeping their home clean.

“It was a problem and I'd ask my boys to help me, and they wouldn't and I'm on oxygen and I've got a bad back,” said Pat Hendrickson.

Hendrickson agreed to give up all of her animals. In return, the Humane Society won’t press charges.

The two boys are still with their mother but won’t return to the house until its cleaned up.
