The rules say you have to be at least 13 to join Facebook.  But more than seven million kids are apparently getting the message that rules are made to be broken.  An estimated 7.5 million underage kids have accounts on the social networking site, accounts for the most part set up by their parents.
This week we’re hearing that Facebook is looking at ways to allow youngsters access to the social network. Perhaps they’re thinking, “Hey, if kids are doing it anyway perhaps the company can cash in on the extra eyeballs.”  Well that isn’t sitting so well with some parents and safety experts who fear Facebook’s privacy settings aren’t enough to keep kids safe and out of trouble.  I had a chat with Savvy Parents Safe Kids founder Kim Estes about the questions parents need to be asking.  Click on the video above to watch the interview.
