Boys and girls are reaching puberty earlier than ever before.  Researchers suspect obesity, environment and nutrition are among the factors that accelerate sexual development.  So don’t be surprised if your tween hits puberty earlier than you did. The important thing is to arm your child with information so they know what to expect. 

A little humor certainly helps the conversation along. The Hello-flo company nailed it with this ad that racked up five million views on YouTube in a week. The company offers a monthly subscription tampon service and period starter kits for girls. With this ad they're helping to reshape the conversation about periods so that girls can feel empowered not ashamed.
