Earth Week is a time to appreciate the environment and raise awareness for the issues that threaten it.
King County "EcoConsumer" Tom Watson is trying to spread the message that small changes when grocery shopping can really make a big difference to the Earth.
"You really need to consider whether it's recyclable or reusable. The food part is the important thing but the packaging really creates a lot of waste," said Watson.
Watson said that one of the best green products on the market is recycled bathroom tissue.
"It's something we all use and you might as well buy toilet paper that is made from recycled office paper," said Watson.
He also encouraged shoppers to reuse their plastic produce bags or buy a cloth one.
