EUGENE, Ore. — The League of American Bicyclists has added Eugene to a list of 10 gold-level "bicycle-friendly" communities.
Eugene has 80 miles of bikes lanes and 41 miles of off-street paths.
The gold standard has allowed Eugene to catch up with Corvallis, but it still trails Portland, which has reached the platinum level.
Elsewhere in the state, Bend and Ashland are at the silver level, and Beaverton and Salem are bronze.
