Halloween isn't just for kids, research shows millennials spending more to celebrate

Halloween is not  just for kids or people with kids anymore.

According to the National Retail Federation, millennials, people ages 18 to 34, are more likely to dress-up and celebrate Halloween than any other adult age group.

Researchers have found young adults are outspending other adults on Halloween costumes. They are spending on average $42.39 compared to $31.03 for all adults.

And what are they doing with those costumes? Wearing them to parties. The intent to attend Halloween parties has risen to 10.9 percent from 2006.

Researchers believe this trend has a lot to do with social media. With ideas and tutorials at our fingertips researchers have found millennials are more likely to participate in Halloween traditions.
