• 1 6th Ave-Pacific Ave  No service on Pacific Ave. between S. 21st St and S. 38th St.

• 3 Lakewood-Tacoma No service on Center St. and Pine St. between Wilkeson  and S. 38th St. and no service on the regular route between 74th/Oakes and the Lakewood Transit Center.
 
• 42 McKinley Ave  No service between East “D” St. and McKinley Ave. north of 34th St.
 
• 48 Sheridan-M St  Service will terminate at 96th and So. Tacoma Way.  Passengers wishing to continue to Lakewood should transfer at S. 96th and Steele to the 55 Route to Parkland, then the 204 Route to Lakewood. Northbound riders do the reverse.
 
• 52 TCC-Tacoma Mall No service between Union Ave. at S. 35 and Pine St. at S. 36th. 
 
• 53 University Place  No service on Pacific Ave. between S. 21st. and S. 38th St. and no service  between Tacoma Mall Transit Center  and S. 56th at Tyler St.
 
• 57 Tacoma Mall  No service between Union Ave. and Pine St. at 35th.
 
• 202 72nd St  No service between S. 74nd St./ Tacoma Mall Blvd. and Lakewood.  202 will serve Lakewood Transit Center but no other stops west of I-5.
 
• 204 Lakewood-Parkland  9:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM, no service between 112th and Steele St. to 108th and Bridgeport.  204 will serve Lakewood Sounder Station and Lakewood Transit Center.
 
• 300 South Tacoma Way  No service between Tacoma Mall Transit Center and McChord AFB, but route will terminate at Lakewood Sounder Station and connect with other routes.  No service to SR 512 Park & Ride or McChord AFB from 9:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM. 
 
• 574 SeaTac Airport  Will not serve SR 512 Park & Ride from 9:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM, but will serve the Lakewood Sounder Station where they will connect with other routes.  574 will continue to serve Lakewood Transit Center.
 
• 594 Seattle Express Will not serve SR 512 Park & Ride from 9:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM, but will serve the Lakewood Sounder Station where they will connect with other routes.  574 will continue to serve Lakewood Transit Center.
 
• 603 Olympia Express Will not serve SR 512 Park & Ride from 9:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM, but will serve the Lakewood Sounder Station where it will connect with other routes.

• Tacoma Dome Station: Significant traffic delays and limited access are expected in the Tacoma Dome Station area between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and again when the ceremony ends at approximately 4 p.m. Bus riders should expect significant service delays. Bus, Sounder, and Tacoma Link riders should plan for limited access, heavy traffic and possible delays entering and exiting the parking garage.
 
• Lakewood Station: The SR 512 Park & Ride will be closed from 9 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m., with Sound Transit, Pierce Transit and Intercity Transit buses either limited to or rerouted to Lakewood Station, located at 11424 Pacific Hwy. S.W.
 
• Tacoma Link: Riders should expect large crowds and significant delays throughout the day from heavy traffic in the Tacoma Dome area.
 
• Those interested in attending the service at the Tacoma Dome or viewing the procession in downtown Tacoma are encouraged to utilize off-site parking lots at Cheney Stadium and the Tacoma Mall where Pierce Transit will operate special limited bus service. Bus service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The last bus will leave from each location at 12 noon. Buses will make return trips immediately following the conclusion of the memorial service.

Transportation

Pierce Transit will operate limited bus service from two alternative parking locations, to the Tacoma Dome. This service will be free to the public. Bus service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the last ones will leave each location at 12 noon. They will provide return trips immediately after the memorial service. The public is strongly encouraged to utilize these off-site parking lots.

The two off-site parking areas are: 

Cheney Stadium, 2502 South Tyler Street, Tacoma

Tacoma Mall - North Parking Lot (across the parking lot from Macys, near the Firestone Tire store)

Please note that a majority of the parking lots at the Tacoma Dome will be reserved for the memorial procession vehicles and other emergency service vehicles.

 

 

Pacific Lutheran University - Memorial Service Remote Site

Pacific Lutheran University will be opening Olson Auditorium to the public as a remote site for Tuesday's Memorial Service. This is the site recommended for the public. Parking is at the Church of All Nations, 111 112th St. E. Shuttles will transport to the auditorium beginning at 9:30 a.m. to the beginning of the memorial ceremony at 1 p.m. The shuttle service will resume after the ceremony to transport people back to the parking area. The auditorium is at the intersection of 124th St. South and 10th Ave. South in Parkland. The doors will open at 9 a.m.
