BEND, Ore. -- Three people including an 8-year-old boy were found dead at their home south of Sunriver.
The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office said a man was found hanging outside the home Thursday and the woman and young boy were dead inside. Detectives have not said exactly how the woman and boy died, but the sheriff's office said the case was being investigated as a homicide.
The three were identified as 40-year-old Joachim Steffan, 49-year-old Dagmar Steffan, and 8-year-old Pascal Steffan.
The Medical Examiner's Office will be assisting investigators to determine the cause of death.
A news release from the department says residents of the area are not thought to be in danger.
