The coolest block party... Pun intended

A 10-ton ice cube was dropped in the middle of downtown Seattle.

The biggest block party of all time is happening in downtown Seattle! A 10-ton block of ice showed up in Occidental Park today.

The giant ice block is the work of design firm Olson Kundig and Design in Public

They have put the temporary installation there just to see what happens.

Design in Public's website says "The pure form of the cube will gradually erode in the summer sun, marking the passage of time as its waters slowly return to the sea."

Although the firms have performed experiments to estimate how long it will take to melt, no one knows when it will actually be completely gone.

So until then, make your way down to the block party and chill
