KEXP Week of 10/3 - Robyn Hitchcock, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Tobacco, Phantogram, Okkervil River

Fall is a busy time for music here in Seattle.

First off, KEXP  wants to extend a huge thank you to all the donors who made our Fall Fund Drive such a huge success last week. THANK YOU!

This week of great music kicks off with friend of KEXP and great singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock, live at the Fremont Abbey tonight, October 4, and tomorrow, October 5. KEXP celebrated 6 degrees of Robyn Hitchcock last year. He is a very talented and funny man, and promises to bring special guests to the show. Tonight's Robyn Hitchcock show is sold out, so get tickets to Wednesday's show while you still can.

Also, Wednesday, October 5, check out Cymbals Eat Guitars at Barboza. If you can't make the nighttime show, don't worry about it. You can catch the New York rock band live at KEXP on Wednesday at noon, for free!

On Friday, October 7, check out psychedelic electronica from Tobacco, playing at The Crocodile.Tobacco is the stage name of Thomas Fec, who is also the frontman of Black Moth Super Rainbow. Tobacco's new solo release is called Sweatbox Dynasty.

Also on Friday, check out a band near and dear to my heart. Phantogram plays The Paramount. The show may be sold out, but snag their new album, Three, out Friday. Last time I checked, the show was almost sold out, so you might have to get creative to find a way into this awesome show. I was one of the first to play Phantogram, way back when, and they've come a long way since then.

On Saturday, October 8, check out Austin folk rockers Okkervil River at The Neptune. You have another chance to catch Okkervil River right here at KEXP on Saturday at 3 pm. Free music at the best radio station on earth!

Fall is a busy time for music here in Seattle. So put some shows on your calendar and get out and enjoy live music!
