SEATTLE – Ever wonder what it would be like to work out with a Seattle Seahawk?
Hundreds of women are finding out, by signing up for Form By Force women's fitness boot camp.
The traveling exercise classes are co-owned and operated by Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor – and he's far from a "silent" partner.
"Some people do get a little shy, being in front of me," he said. "But I always let them know that there's no need because I'm going to go out there and do the same thing. I'm going to do this work out with you."
At a recent boot camp held at the Bellevue Family YMCA, Chancellor danced during a Zumba routine, lead women in an ab workout, and shouted encouragement throughout the 90-minute class.
The high-energy, high-impact workout is designed for a wide range of ages and fitness levels, with a goal of changing more than physique. The instructors help modify movements and encourage effort.
"If you feel good, your body feels good, then your mind and your mental will be straight," Chancellor said.
It's a philosophy he learned from his business partner and the boot camp's main trainer, Kevin Allen. They've known each other since Chancellor was in high school, and Allen worked as his defensive back coach.
"He had a key to my house, believe it or not," Allen said. "The bond and relationship kind of grew and it just kind of stuck."
Form By Force events are held at gyms across the state, teaching some of the same moves Chancellor uses in his own training.
"We're here to help you, to motivate you, to inspire you, to uplift you, and to make you a stronger woman," Chancellor said.
The next Form By Force boot camp is scheduled for Monday, October 17. Find sign-up information here.
