Boatgating: A Washington Tradition

Boatgating at Husky Stadium

Washington can claim the coolest tailgating tradition in all of college football.

It's called boatgating...a flotilla of fun just steps (on a dock no less) from Husky Stadium.

And nobody boatgates better than one of the pioneers, The Big Dawg. It's 94-feet of floating Dawg fans, gettin' ready for the big game each Saturday. They've been at it for four decades!

The Big Dawg not only has party essentials, but memorabilia like Jake Locker's helmet and jersey. There is even a TV on board to watch the pre-game show.

When boatgating first started out, there were only a handful of boats. Now, there's a whole fleet!
