Do you want a universal remote, there's an app for that. Do you want a gun-like device to put your Sony Move controller in. There isn't an app for that, but we got something else.
First up is the i-Got-Control Universal Remote for multiple iOS devices. The i-Got-Control Universal Remote is an infrared adapter that plugs into your favorite iOS device and, working with the free i-Got-Control app, makes it a universal remote.
The adapter plugs into the Apple port on your iOS device nice and snugly. It holds on well, I tried to shake it free and it stayed put. The app is simple to use and program. Just select "Add," then turn the dial for "Device" and "Brand" the IR Code libraries for your devices will be there on the far right dial. Start with the first code and press the "Test Power" button. If it turns your device on or off you are done, if not rotate the IR Code dial to the next code and repeat until it turns on/off your device.
If none of the codes work or you want to add special functions for a remote already programmed in, the i-Got-Control app can learn from your original remote. The process has a few more steps, but is easy and painless.
I had the i-Got-Control Universal Remote working on my iPad and iPod Touch in minutes. I was able to program in my TV, cable/DVR box, HD-DVD player and Xbox 360. All worked well. Since the Sony PlayStation 3 does not have an IR sensor, there is no control for it. The only problem I can find is that the app only gives you the basics for control; on/off, volume up/down, change channels, menu, and open tray. Most functions beyond this need to be programmed in.
Still I liked the i-Got-Control Universal Remote. It is nice to have all my remotes in one place. The iPad may be a bit big for universal remote, but since I already have with me while I use my TV I might as well put it to use.
I can easily recommend the i-Got-Control Universal Remote. It works with any iOS device that has OS 3.0 or higher. More information can be found at the i-Got-Control Universal Remote web site.
The other device I have for you is the Nyko Skill Shot gun for use with your Sony Move.
The Nyko Skill Shot fits your Move controller into the barrel section and your Navigator controller into the forward handle. Both snapped in easily and stay put, no wiggling or falling out. The Navigator handle can be rotated to a comfortable position. I liked this feature, it allowed me to have the Navigator in a more natural feeling position.
To put the Nyko Skill Shot through its paces I played some SOCOM 4 with it. I have to say it worked well. The trigger was tight with no lag or looseness in firing. The Nyko Skill Shot is also lighter than Sony's Sharp Shooter gun so it didn't tire my arms out as quickly. The only drawbacks with the Nyko Skill Shot were that it doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles that Sony's Sharp Shooter has, and personally I would like the stock to slide back further than it does, but I have that same problem with Sony's Sharp Shooter.
Even so the Nyko Skill Shot performed very well and I can recommend it if you are looking to get a good gun controller for your Sony Move. More information can be found at Nyko's web site.
