Is Fido's carbon footprint bigger than an SUV?

A new study from New Zealand claims a dog's carbon footprint leaves a bigger impact on the environment than a gas-guzzling SUV. Do you think Fido is a bigger polluter than your neighbor's Hummer?

According to the study, a cat's pawprint is roughly equivalent to a Volkswagen Golf's carbon footprint.

My neighbor's dogs leave a large (unscooped) poop footprint on my lawn every night. I have not analyzed the carbon content.
