KING 5 and NWCN anchor, Shaniqua Manning, recently hosted the UNCF 5th Annual “Music for the Mind” Benefit Gala at the Experience Music Project (EMP). The night was a celebration to recognize outstanding corporations, foundations and individuals throughout the Northwest that have made a commitment to support minority education.

The dazzling venue hosted a memorable night including a live and silent auction, dinner and live jazz. All of the proceeds raised through-out the evening benefited the UNCF Pacific Northwest Scholarship Fund.

The United Negro College Fund is the nation’s largest and most effective minority education organization. The organization provides operating funds for selected universities, scholarships and internships for students and professional administrative training. To date, the UNCF has helped over 350,000 attend and graduate college!
