Can you hear that? The unmistakable tinkling of sleigh bells in the distance…..?
That’s the sound of Northwest Cable News’ staff preparing for the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walks that will be taking place across the northwest this season.
For what might be the first time in its 15 year history, NWCN has teamed up with a non-profit organization to be the official media sponsor of a community event. And what a worthwhile event it is!
Stretching north to Anchorage, east to Spokane and south to Bend, Oregon – a total of seven Jingle Bell Run/Walks will be held throughout the Pacific Northwest. The goal of the local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is to help the more than 2 million people (including more than 10,000 children!) in Washington, Oregon and Alaska who live with arthritis or a related disease. Of the 100 different forms of arthritis, some effect kids, some young adults and some are more commonly found in women than men. In short, there isn’t a segment of our community arthritis doesn’t effect.
I hope you will consider joining NWCN’s Cam Johnson, Keisha Burns, Rob Piercy and Audra Schroeder at an event in Seattle, Skagit County, and Bellingham. Wherever you live, check out the website and find the race closest to you. Money raised from the Jingle Bell Run/Walks will go towards providing research, advocacy, education and services to people with arthritis.
At NWCN, we’ve got our bells on… do you?
