WALLACE, Idaho - Authorities in Shoshone County says a person of interest in a double murder last week has confessed to the crime. Jon Allen Kienholz Jr. is now in custody for the shooting deaths of 20-year-old Neil Howard and 18-year-old Cynthia Bewick.
Their bodies were found Friday morning in the woods near Dobson Pass, north of Wallace.
Howard and Bewick were engaged and had a nine-month-old child together. Investigators say they both lived in Kellogg.
An autopsy shows Bewick and Howard died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Shoshone Co. Sheriff Chuck Reynalds says he believes the victims were shot in the location where they were found.
According to Reynalds, all three people involved in the case are "affiliated with the drug culture" in the Silver Valley. However, a search of court files shows none of them has a criminal record.
