Dog removed from voting rolls

SEATTLE -- King County election officials have removed a dog from voter rolls.

A spokeswoman, Bobby Egan, admits yesterday's action was a little tardy.

If convicted, Jane Balogh could face felony charges.

The dog's owner signed up her pet last year to demonstrate what she sees as a flaw. She mailed in a ballot last November marked "void" and signed with the print of a paw.

The owner, 66-year-old Jane Balogh of Federal Way, was charged last month in King County Superior Court with making a false statement to a public servant.

No votes from the Australian shepherd-terrier mix named Duncan McDonald were counted, and his voter registration was canceled yesterday.
